ABOUT

Kopivosivan! Welcome to Badi Ultra Trail Challenge (BUTC) a fundraising trail running event set in Borneo. BUTC offers spectacular scenery for participants, showcasing some of Sabah's most beautiful and historical land. Set in the Crocker Range of mountains - each route has a mix of terrains; from primary rainforest and jungle to crystal clear streams and roads that will take you through local mountain villages. There are stunning views along the way.

Part of the route was historically known as the Salt Trail –  traditionally used by village traders to barter their fresh produce at market – mostly for salt. The world Badi itself even comes from the Kadazan for ‘Cannon’ which used to be sounded at the beginning of market day. Runners can complete the 12KM, 25KM or 50KM distances. The event is based in Penampang.

Some will run for the personal challenge, train like never before and enjoy that medal at the finish line. Join us and experience this challenge and its people.

The 2020 event will take place on Saturday 28 March. The courses are not too hilly. They are runnable, scenic and humidity is acceptable. Every finisher receives a beautiful medal at the finish-line. There are generous cutoff times and the aid stations have more food and drinks than you can imagine. Welcome trail runners. See you in 2020.

PACOS TRUST

PACOS Trust is a community-based organization (CBO) dedicated towards supporting indigenous communities in Sabah. Although registered under the Trustees Ordinance (Sabah) only in 1997, the organization has been actively involved with communities since 1987 as a different legal entity.

PACOS is an acronym for 'Partners of Community Organizations in Sabah'.

PACOS sees itself as an organization that strives to empower indigenous communities through systematic building and strengthening of community organizations, which can act collectively on its own. The organization also sees the need to support networking among organizations struggling to assert right over community resources and revitalizing indigenous systems.
